• To enable learner to understand the nature, purpose and philosophy of education and physical education at the secondary stage.
• To prepare teachers of Physical Education with broader educational perspective.
• To develop Personal, Professional and Social competencies required in teaching profession.
• To develop potential for planning and organizing Physical Education programmes and activities.
• To empower learners to inspire their students to actively participate in Physical and Yogic Exercises, Games and Sports.
• To enable teachers to develop personality, character, will power, democratic values and positives attitude towards life among their students through Physical Education.
• To make teachers capable of imparting basic knowledge about health, hygiene, nutrition and physical fitness.
• To develop skills and competencies to organize school and community games and sports.
• To cultivate the spirit of sportsmanship, mental and physical alertness, scientific temper and optimism.
• To promote mental health, power of self-decision and self-control, correct judgment and action, emotional stability, respect for other and acceptance of the authority and rules.
• To promote appreciation and interest for indigenous games, sports and yogic practices among learner.

The candidates have to appear at the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL, MAHARASHTRA STATE, MUMBAI. The candidates will be finally admitted only on the basis of the Merit list generated and candidate allotted by MAH-B.P.Ed CET through CAP Rounds.

Candidates from Out- side Maharashtra Universities will be considered as Open Categorycandidates and criteria applicable to Open category candidates will be applicable to them.

1. The candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50 % marks), (Minimum 45% in case of Backward Class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State) And having at least participation in the inter-college /inter-zonal /district / school competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU (Association of Indian Universities) /IOA (Indian Olympic Association)/SGFI(School Games Federation of India) /Government of India.

2. The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (BPE) with 45% marks (Minimum 40% marks in case of Backward Class Categories elonging only to Maharashtra State)

3. The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks. (Minimum 40% marks in case of Backward Class Categories belonging only toMaharashtra State) and studied Physical Education as compulsory /Elective subject.

4. The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks (Minimum 0% marks incase of Backward Class Categories belonging only to Maharashtra State)andhaving participated in National /Inter-University /State Competitions or secured 1st ,2nd or 3rdposition in Inter-college /inter–zonal /district /school competition in Sports and ames asrecognized by Respective Federation / AIU/IOA/SGFI/Government of India.

5. The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with participation international Competitions

6. The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree with 45% (Minimum 40% marks in case ofBackward Class belonging only to Maharashtra State)and at least three years of teaching experience (for deputed in-service candidates i.e. trainedphysical education teachers/ coaches).

7. Candidates who has appeared for the Qualifying Examination in the academic year 2020-2021and qualified the B.P.Ed CET 2021successfully, they will become eligible for admission toB.P.ED.2021 only if they produce Marks Memo/ Degree Certificate of the Qualifying Examination and full fill the eligibility criteria mentioned above while filling in the AdmissionForm in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
