Grievance Redressal Cell

As suggested by University Grants Commission, New Delhi, the College has established an Grievance Redressal Cell. The Cell aims to look into the students’ grievances and ensure the transparency in admission, and prevention of unfair practices, etc.as per requirement. The function of the cell is to look into the complaints regarding any academic and non- academic matter within the campus lodged by any student & other stakeholders and judge its merit on the basis of facts. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Grievance Redressal Cell. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell outside Classroom. Grievances may also be sent through e-mail to the officer in-charge of Student’s Grievance Cell. The institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within stipulated time.

Objective

The Grievance Redressal Cell has been developed to resolve the complaints and grievances of the students and other stakeholders within a reasonable time period for further strengthening the bond of the students with the institution and to keep educational environment more healthy, fair and safe by all means. To make students aware of their rights and responsibilities. One of the objectives of the Grievance Cell is to make students aware of their rights and responsibilities in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the college.

Scope

The cell will deal with Grievances received in writing from the students about any of the following matters:

  • Academic matters related to issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates, or other examination related matters.
  • Any financial matters related to dues and payments for various items like fees, library dues, hostels fees etc.
  • Other matters related to certain misgivings about conditions of sanitation, use of sports equipment, victimization by teachers etc.

Functions

  • The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students and stockholders. The cell formally will review all cases and will act accordingly as per the Management policy.
  • The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

Procedure for Lodging Complaint

  • The students may feel free to put up a grievance through mail and / orin written letter which can bedrop it in letterbox/ suggestion box.
  • The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
  • The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.

Mechanism of the Grievance Redressal Committee

  • Grievance redressal committee (GRC) shall consider only individual grievances of specific nature of students and staff.
  • The GRC shall not consider any grievance of general applicability or of collective nature of raised collectively by more than one employee / student.
  • Post receipt of the complaint / application the committee will decide on the merit of case regarding scope of further discussion investigation and act promptly.
  • The GRC may mediate between complainant and defendant against who the complaint has been made, it required.
  • GRC shall consider redressing of grievances within a reasonable time.
  • The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and seek guidance from the higher authorities if required.
